PAPER BOX

Paper boxes (also known as cartons) are made from different types of paper, box-shaped with a sturdy structure. They are often used for packaging goods.

The structure has an important impact on the quality of carton boxes. Carton paper has a 3-dimensional structure and is made by arranging layers of corrugated board together. Depending on the number of layers, we have cartons 3, 5, 7 layers, etc.

APPLICATIONS:

- Carton boxes help protect products: This is the most prominent use of cartons. Their protection keeps products and goods durable, increases longevity, and makes transportation easier.

- Carton boxes provide product information: Carton boxes contain a lot of important information about the product, such as ingredients of substances in the product, instructions for use, storage, expiration date, etc.

- Carton boxes are an effective PR tool: Promotion and marketing with carton boxes is the best way to grow a business's brand. Sometimes just by looking at the logo, color, and image on the outside of the carton can customers recognize a brand.

- Carton boxes are lightweight, compared to other packaging material, such as wood or iron.

- Carton boxes can be used as pet cages or toys.

I. 3-layer carton boxes

A 3-layer carton box is made from 3 layers of carton paper. It includes 2 layers of paper on the outside and 1 layer of corrugated paper in the middle in a sin-shaped layer. This is one of the most used types of cardboard boxes today because the price is quite low.

This product is made of Vietnamese paper, Thai paper, or Malaysian paper, etc. However, this type of carton is only suitable for containing products with compact volume and weight, such as medicines, instant noodles, tissues, cosmetics, etc.

Depending on the manufacturer, 3-layer cartons can be made from xeo paper or yellow paper.

CHARACTERISTICS:

+ Outer layer: Usually white, yellow or brown, flat, smooth, beautiful and shiny.

+ Middle layer: Made up of corrugated paper layers, acting as a carton cushion. Thanks to this layer, the goods inside are protected and prevented from being damaged by impact.

+ Bottom layer: Depending on order requirements and product properties, this layer can be regular paper or hard paper to support the box.

ADVANTAGES:

+ Light weight, suitable for packaging many items.

+ Diverse designs and models. Easy to fold, does not take up much space.

II. 5-layer carton boxes

A 5-layer carton is made of 2 outer layers and 3 inner layers, which are 2 corrugated paper and 1 flat paper. Specifically, it is made up of 2 layers of sinusoid in the middle and 2 outer sides, and 1 surface layer in the middle of the 2 wave layers. The 5-layer carton has a higher thickness and sturdiness, therefore, boxes are widely used for packaging furniture, machinery, etc. with large weight and size.

- STRUCTURE:

+ 1 layer of brown, white, and yellow paper.

+ 2 layers of corrugated paper.

+ 1 layer of flat paper separated between 2 corrugated layers.

+ 1 layer of bottom paper which is usually brown or polyester paper.

Besides:

+ 5-layer carton is made of 3 brown layers.

+ 2 corrugated layers for silk-screen printed cartons.

+ For offset printed cartons, it is 1 duplex layer + 2 brown layers + 2 corrugated layers BE, BC, or BA, etc.

The combination of BE, BC or BA waves depends on the characteristics of each product and appropriate waves. BE corrugated cartons are thinner than both BB and BC corrugated cartons.

5-layer corrugated cartons or BC corrugated boxes are most suitable, however, if the product is fragile, 5-layer corrugated BE cartons can be used.

III. 7-layer carton boxes

A 7-layer carton is made of 2 flat outer layers (brown paper, white paper, etc.) and 5 corrugated layers on the inside, including 3 sin-shaped corrugated layers and 2 flat layers interspersed between 3 corrugated layers.

• 2 layers of paper on the outside are the surface layer and bottom layer of the tank.
• 2 layers of paper in the middle are flat.
• 3 layers of alternating sinusoid in the middle.

Compared to 3-layer and 5-layer cartons, 7-layer cartons have a very large thickness. Therefore, they are mainly used to store products in the export industry such as ceramics, porcelain, electronic equipment or machinery, etc.
